This was the second time that ICT had undertaken 
this coast to coast adventure which traversed 
diagonally across the fascinating island of Sri Lanka: 
from the hot and humid plains of Colombo, up to the 
welcome coolness of the central highlands around 
Kandy to the historic port of Trincomalee. These were 
challenging trips and not for the faint-hearted, but the 
stunning scenery, friendly people and rare insight
into rural Sri Lankan life didl not disappoint. The 
final destination of Nilaveli, outside Trincomalee, 
offered clear blue waters and world-class snorkeling 
– very welcome after our humid six-day ride!
